Overview

MotivDaily is a quotes and motivation app. Most of the app — browsing quotes, favoriting them, setting reminders, changing themes — works entirely offline, with that data stored only on your device. Creating an account is optional and is only needed for features that involve other people or other devices: publishing a quote publicly, liking or commenting on quotes, or backing up your own quotes.

MotivDaily is published by LexaForge ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and how you can delete it.

Data Stored On Your Device

The following stays on your device and is never transmitted to us unless you create an account:

  • Favorited quotes and reading preferences
  • Notification/reminder schedule
  • Theme, language, and background settings
  • A local cache of your own quotes, for offline access

Uninstalling the app permanently deletes this data.

Accounts (Optional)

If you choose to create an account, you can do so in one of these ways:

  • Email sign-in code — a one-time 6-digit code sent to your email
  • Email + password — your password is handled by our authentication provider (Supabase Auth) and is never visible to us in readable form
  • Guest account — created instantly with no email required. The app generates a random user ID that is tied to this device/install only. Guest accounts can use every feature (creating quotes, liking, commenting), but can't be recovered if you sign out or reinstall unless you add an email and password to the guest account first.

We use this identity only to associate your content with you and let you sign back in. We don't require or collect your real name.

Data We Collect And Store In The Cloud (Account Holders Only)

If you create an account (including a guest account), the following is stored on our backend (Supabase, see below):

  • Email address (not collected for guest accounts) and authentication data
  • User ID — a random identifier for your account, including the random ID generated for guest accounts
  • User-generated content — the quotes you create (text, author, category, and whether you've marked them public), and the comments and replies you post
  • Activity — likes you've given, and the like/view/comment counts on quotes
  • Profile — a username (auto-generated, or one you choose) and an optional display name

Quotes you mark public are visible to anyone using the Discover feed, along with your username. Quotes you keep private are visible only to you.

We use this data only to provide the app's features (sign-in, saving and syncing your quotes, public sharing, likes and comments) and to manage your account. We do not use it for advertising.

Advertising

MotivDaily shows ads served by Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, app-open, native, and rewarded formats) to support free use of the app. To do this, Google's Mobile Ads SDK collects and shares with Google the following data from your device:

  • Advertising ID and other device identifiers
  • Approximate location, derived from your IP address
  • Device information, such as device model, operating system version, and language
  • Ad interaction data, such as ads shown, viewed, and tapped
  • Diagnostics and crash data related to the ads SDK

This data is used to select, deliver, measure, and protect the integrity of ads, and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites and apps that use our services.

  • Where required (for example, in the EEA and UK), we show a consent form — via Google's User Messaging Platform — before requesting ads, and you can change your choice at any time from Settings → About → Manage ad consent.
  • You can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of ads personalization, in your Android device settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
  • We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for anything beyond serving and measuring the ads shown in the app.

Notifications

Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. On Android, the notification system is provided by Google Play services and Firebase Cloud Messaging, which may use a device or installation identifier to deliver notifications to your device. We use this only to deliver the reminders you set up.

App Updates

MotivDaily may check for and download app updates through Expo Updates. When the app checks for an update, Expo receives standard technical information such as your IP address, platform, and app version. We use this only to deliver updates to the app.

Security

Data sent between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS. Account data is stored with Supabase, which applies its own security measures to protect stored data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

What We Don't Do

  • We don't collect your contacts, photos, or precise location.
  • We don't run a separate analytics or tracking SDK beyond the advertising described above.
  • We don't sell your data to third parties.

Third-Party Services

  • Supabase — hosts our database and handles authentication for account holders. Acts as our service provider.
  • Google AdMob / User Messaging Platform — serves ads and manages ad-consent choices, as described above. Data collected by AdMob is shared with Google.
  • Expo (Expo Updates) — delivers app updates, as described above.
  • Google Play services / Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers notifications on Android, as described above.

Data Retention

Account data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your quotes, profile, likes, and comments are permanently removed from our systems. Data stored only on your device is removed when you uninstall the app.

Deleting Your Data

  • On-device data: uninstall the app.
  • Account data (in the app): sign in, then go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your account, quotes, profile, likes, and comments from our systems. This also applies to guest accounts.
  • Account data (without the app): if you can no longer open the app, email us at softwaredesign70@gmail.com from your account email address (or, for a guest account, tell us as much as you can about your quotes and username) with the subject "Delete my MotivDaily account", and we will delete your account data.
  • Advertising data: data collected by Google AdMob is controlled by Google. You can reset your Advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your device settings.

Children's Privacy

MotivDaily is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes To This Policy

We'll update the "Last Updated" date above whenever this policy changes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the update.
